After the Storm
Crisp Point Light -- Paradise, MI
This lone tower is all that remains of the Crisp Point Life-Saving Station. She once stood in a complex of buildings. Now she stands alone. Lake Superior storms have worn away the point of land that once protected her from the ravages of nature. This is a light that once stood to guide souls on the untamable sea, a beacon of warning, and place of rescue. Now she stands in danger as water reaches out for her foundation.
Much has changed around her, yet in the eyes of many she stands proud. To be beside her in the dark of the night is to feel something of the past. There is the drama of what she once was, and a tension for what lies ahead. Storms toss the angry sea, and a lone tower clenches an iron fist.
