Fayette Historic State Park is on the Garden Peninsula, reaching down into the northern-most tip of Lake Michigan. Situated on the Southern edge of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, in the midst of a large hardwood forest, this was an iron smelting facility and small town. Now as a State Park, we are free to re-live some of Michigan’s history. Take a walk through the furnace complex, the company store, the hotel, and many other buildings from the past.
The light of the sun setting in the West added warmth and texture to create a pleasing atmosphere for this picture of the machine shop. Imagine stepping out from a hard day’s work into the beauty of apple blossoms and the warmth of a summer sun.
