Spring Flow
Presque Isle River -- Porcupine Mountains, MI
The Presque Isle River has many places where we can watch and listen to cascading flows of water. This is looking at the water as it branches west around a point of land that becomes an island when the flow is high from Spring run off. It is probably this point of land (sometimes an island) that is responsible for the name of the river. Presque Isle means “almost and island” and the name is often applied to points of land, or peninsulas.
